Privacy Policy
Paper PDF is a local-first PDF utility app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and what choices you have.
Summary
Paper PDF is designed to work primarily on your device. In the current version, we do not operate a user account system, cloud storage service, analytics service, or advertising network for the app.
Information you create or import
When you use Paper PDF, you may create, import, edit, or export content such as:
- scanned document pages
- PDF files you choose to open or merge
- images you choose to convert into PDFs
- annotations, highlights, and markup you apply to PDFs
- exported or compressed document copies you choose to save
How your data is stored
Your documents and app data are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share them elsewhere. Paper PDF does not upload your files to our servers because the current version does not provide a remote backend or account sync system.
Data collection
We do not collect personal information through Paper PDF. We do not sell personal data. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the current version of the app.
Tracking
Paper PDF does not track you across apps, websites, or services operated by other companies.
Permissions
Paper PDF may request access to device features only when needed for functionality you choose to use:
- Camera: used to scan paper documents into PDFs.
- Photos: used when you choose to import images from your photo library.
- Files: used when you open, import, export, or save documents through the Files app.
In-app purchases
Paper PDF offers an optional in-app purchase for Pro features through Apple's in-app purchase system. Purchase processing is handled by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Sharing and export
If you choose to share or export a document, the app creates the file locally and passes it to the destination you select through Apple's system share or file interfaces. Those actions happen only when you initiate them.
Children's privacy
Paper PDF does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a remote service because the current version does not collect user data from the device.
Security
Because your documents are stored locally, protecting your device helps protect your files. You are responsible for device-level protections such as passcodes, Face ID, Touch ID, backups, and file-sharing choices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
